new flatmates - new surprises

Posted by Nigel J. W. Ong

As the title suggested, i got myself 4 new flatmates last week. heres what i got to say about them.

Sophie - the well eaten girl.
shes a french. yup. a french. so harold, dont be jealous with me! shes the first to check in at the flat, and she doesnt speak much english. i helped her to get around auckland, from getting groceries to a new mobile number to even a bank account.
shes a well spoken girl, and boy she makes very nice, sometimes gourmet salad. her salad seasonings are quite exotic to me, things like balsamic vinegar, and french cheese. not to mention things like turmeric powder ( never thought that nasty stuff can go into salads). she also cooks healthily, everytime when she cooks, i cant help but feel that my dietary habit consists of eating trash - burgers, cheap pastas, steaks with a hell lot of smoky sauce.

Jack - the proud irish

yup. after sophie, he came into flat 10. as the description, hes taking his irish culture pretty seriously. he loves his Guiness and of course Kilkenny. and he sure knows how to use his irish background to its full potential, especially when its about flirting with girls. a law student, this guy is not the person to argue about things with, he can come out with brilliant points. im sure he'll make a damn good lawyer.

Jessica - the "loud and happy" Swing
i gave her a pretty weird first impression. when she first move in, i was in my scottish regalia, going to play for my pipe band at a funeral. i guess she finds it funny to see an asian guy in full scottish regalia, with tartan kilt and sporran and glengarry.
never afraid to speak her mind, she provides insights and suggestions on how things should be done, especially things about the flat. she came out with ideas like flat dinner and tries to organize them. thats the kind of flatmate you want, coorperative, responsive and that she communicates. shes loud and very friendly. not to mention her liking to dance, even when shes doing her dishes! i love this girl.

Kristi - the "sweet" girl

ive not have a lot of opportunities to know kristi enough, since shes the last to move in, and that shes been sick for the past week. shes supposed to live at flat 11, but since she finds more chemistry with flat 10, she moved into the spare room. So far, she looks like shes a nice and sweet young lady. she dances quite well too.

hope ill be able to spend my final semester here at Auckland in a blast with these folks!
